Nacchio tested for cancer, hearing on delay tomorrow

Former Qwest Communications CEO Joe Nacchio has been seeking a delay of his March 23 prison report date, and documents filed in federal court in Denver this week shed some light on the reason for that request: Nacchio had a growth on his leg biopsied to test for skin cancer. The Denver Post reported that now-unsealed court documents show that Nacchio has been treated for the medical condition in recent months.

Nacchio has been looking to postpone his reporting date for his six-year prison term from March 23 until April 7. A court hearing on this request is scheduled for tomorrow, and government prosecutors are arguing that the reporting date should not change because Nacchio can receive adequate medical care in prison.
