NTT Europe continues expansion with new PoP in Amsterdam

NTT's (NYSE: NTT) European subsidiary NTT Europe established a new Point of Presence (PoP) in EvoSwitch, Amsterdam, a major European data center provider.

Designed to provide its ISP and content network provider customers in Europe an onramp to its backbone network, the move is part of a broader effort by NTT Europe to consolidate its Western Europe presence and expand further into Central and Eastern Europe.

The service provider has been on an aggressive build out schedule; in the past six months alone it has opened five PoPs including Bucharest, Budapest and Sofia. This aggressive expansion in Europe will continue throughout 2012.

As has been the case with its other international builds, NTT Europe has scheduled this latest network build following ongoing discussions with Eastern European companies to see how it could assist them with their growing bandwidth needs.
