Private equity firm Halyard Capital and cable TV industry veteran John Brooks have partnered to acquire the cable TV assets of Georgia's Newman Utilities for about $70 million. Brooks is currently in charge as chairman and CEO, and the company, which serves Coweta County, Ga., has been renamed NuLink. Cable TV industry start-ups and re-boots are not all that common, so it will be interesting to see what NuLink does next--it is already planning a push into video on demand and telephony.
