One Source Networks enhances cloud capabilities with StarView Solutions buy

One Source Networks (OSN) has acquired StarView Solutions, a move that immediately enhances its cloud-based voice-service capabilities and the volume of its voice traffic.

The service provider immediately gains about 2 billion annual voice minutes, 14 million peered Direct Inward Dialing numbers (DIDs), relationships with more than 100 new suppliers and a set of automated voice-provisioning and DID-management capabilities.

StarView has relationships with more than 400 global carriers and VoIP-service providers, including global VoIP carriers, ITSPs, cable MSOs, and mobile providers.

The companies have similar focuses. Like OSN, StarView Solutions can provide large multisite enterprise and wholesale customers with a single source for their VoIP and data communication services via a single mutual service agreement (MSA).

"What is particularly exciting is how StarView's business model of delivering services through a single supplier mirrors our own philosophy," said Ernest Cunningham, CEO of One Source Networks, in a release. "The StarView customer base is now able to choose from a significantly broader product set while maintaining the simplicity of one contract and one invoice."

Besides the network and service assets, OSN will gain experienced staff members, including Chris Griffin, who has been appointed executive vice president of wholesale sales.

A 20-year telecom-industry veteran, Griffin was president and co-founder of StarView. He previously held a number of senior roles at Qwest Communications (now CenturyLink) and MCI (now Verizon).

By being bought by OSN, StarView adds a set of data, managed-service and voice capabilities to its own product portfolio. It will also expand its customer-support capabilities by using OSN's operational and engineering teams.
