Onvoy Voice Services employs Sonus for its network expansion

Onvoy Voice Services, a wholesale voice service provider, is leveraging Sonus Networks' (Nasdaq: SONS) VoIP gear for its latest network expansion initiative.

For this particular deployment, Onvoy will use Sonus's Sonus's GSX9000 media gateway, PSX centralized route server, SGX signaling gateway and Element Management System.

These systems will be installed at Onvoy's facilities in Minneapolis, Denver and New York.

In addition to offering wholesale services, including Tandem, Transit and Long Distance, Onvoy will likely also leverage the Sonus gear and expansion to extend more IP-based voice services to enterprise customers under its newly launched managed communications services business that it now oversees.
