Optimum Lightpath targets broadcasters

Cablevision-owned Optimum Lightpath has a new video transport distribution service complying with the Metro Ethernet Forum's broadcast video transport certification, and targeting the needs of major media outlets and other broadcast content firms.

There couldn't be a better time to pursue the content transport market, as Web-based video continues to boom and IPTV and mobile TV start growing, too. People like Mark Cuban are complaining the underlying network infrastructure isn't ready to handle the future, but these types of services will help.
