Before Paetec, the 20-plus year telecom veteran is likely best known for helping to fiber services company Intellifiber Networks, a subsidiary of the former Cavalier Telephone, which Paetec purchased late last year. During his tenure at Paetec and Intellifiber, Heiden and his team built out a 17,000-mile fiber network, in addition to a wide-reaching Ethernet over Copper (EoC) network, not to mention netting 500 Department of Defense (DoD) customers.

Prior to Paetec and Cavalier, Heiden held a number of sales and executive positions at Cable & Wireless America, Qwest, UUNET and InterCon Systems.
