Pureport hooks up with AWS Transit Gateway for enterprise cloud connectivity

Pureport, which provides private connections to clouds, announced its Multicloud Fabric platform now supports connections to AWS Transit Gateway over AWS Direct Connect.

The expanded partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) allows enterprises to simplify their networks by connecting their global AWS infrastructure over a Pureport-enabled AWS Direct Connect.

AWS Transit Gateway is a service that enables customers to connect their Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and their on-premises networks to a single gateway. As customers increase the number of workloads running on AWS, they need to be able to scale their networks across multiple accounts and Amazon VPCs to keep pace with the growth.

Last month, AWS announced that AWS Transit Gateway was available in its Asia Pacific (Hong Kong) region. With the latest addition, AWS Transit Gateway is now available in a total of 18 AWS regions around the world.

Pureport's Multicloud Fabric, which doesn't require additional hardware, orchestrates private connectivity to the top public cloud providers across multi-cloud, hybrid cloud or a multi-site network. As a software-defined networking (SDN) company, Pureport can quickly connect enterprises' on-premise networks to an AWS Transit Gateway over IPSec VPN tunnels, or from more than 150 Pureport points of presence (PoPs) across the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.

"The combination of Pureport's Multicloud Fabric platform and AWS Transit Gateway allows organizations to quickly and easily mesh their on-premises and cloud networks, establishing consistent, low-latency connectivity that is critical for hybrid-cloud topologies," said Pureport CEO Rich Lee, in a statement. "Pureport continues to enhance our Multicloud Fabric platform to help enterprises connect and manage their mission-critical AWS workloads, as well as remain aligned to AWS' evolving best architectural practices."
