Restructured Spirent posts strong Q1 numbers

Spirent Communications has undergone heavy restructuring and recently hired a new CEO, and the test vendor's first-quarter earnings report suggests its is now heading in the right direction. Spirent reported $115 million in revenue for the quarter, and profit of $18.3 million, both figures on the increase from the same quarter last year.

There has been a wave of M&A activity in the test and network/service management sector of late, mostly among companies looking for the product breadth Spirent traditional has had. However, Spirent CEO Bill Burns tells Light Reading Europe that the company is not looking to sell.
