Vitals: This Alexandria, Tenn.-based company was once known as the DeKalb Telephone Cooperative. It bought up and merged with a number of other small telephone companies and exchanges during the 1950s and 1960s, and changed its name to DTC Communications in 1996. DTC offers landline voice, wireless, TV, Internet, long-distance and business services:
