Sizing up the cable industry in Q2 2012

Steve Donohue, FierceCable's editor notes that "the second quarter is traditionally a volatile period for pay-TV distributors, as many college students cancel service at the end of the school year." The challenge, adds Donohue, is that for cable MSOs--particularly Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) and Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR), which both saw subscriber gains in Q1 2012--lies in their ability to sustain growth during the second quarter.
