Spotlight: Alca-Lu brewing personnel moves?

NXTcomm week could witness some personnel changes in the Alcatel-Lucent hierarchy. Light Reading reports that Tim Krause, currently chief marketing officer of the Americas business at Alcatel-Lucent will become chief marketing officer for the entire company, as current CMO John Giere moves to a new position. It is not yet clear in what role Giere will be landing. Also, another long-time Lucent player, John Marinho, will become head of Americas global government and public affairs. Marinho has been vice president of corporate strategic marketing and global government and public affairs, according to the report.

For a vendor giant still struggling to integrate a merger and meet financial goals, high-level marketing changes would not comes as a surprise, though could these moves be the tip of the iceberg? The company did recently change a key rule that would make it easier for the board to replace its CEO.
