An AT&T official speaking at Light Reading's Ethernet Expo in New York spent a good deal of time talking about the challenges still facing Carrier Ethernet services, including affordability and operations, administration and maintenance issues.
Is Carrier Ethernet, so incredibly popular the last two years, now facing a bit of a backlash? Probably not, but perhaps after a couple years of service launches, technology advancements and exciting competition, service providers have come back to the reality of what it takes to successfully operate a new service in the long run.
