France's top two competitive carriers, Neuf Cegetel and Iliad, are looking for a little regulatory help to give them a boost in the fiber-to-the-home business, where they say incumbent telco France Telecom enjoys an unfair advantage. The alternative operators said in statements made at the FTTH Council Europe conference that the ILEC wholesale FTTH prices and technical conditions need to improve, and that they fear France Telecom will be able to too easily lock up deals with multi-dwelling unit owners.
