Telecom firms in the Middle East and Persian Gulf are confronting future market opportunities, along with the some of the same challenges--when to invest in IP, whether or not to structurally separate--that telcos all over the world are facing.Saudi Telecom is one of the more innovative telcos in the world, let alone in the emerging Persian Gulf market and broader Middle East region. Qatar Telecom has been an M&A force in its home region and elsewhere in the world. Iraq, though facing a multitude of other challenges, is moving ahead licensing mobile services.
