SPOTLIGHT: Some of Qwest dividend will be capital


Qwest Communications said some of the money from its upcoming shareholder dividend will be classified as a return of capital for tax purposes, possibly between 40% and 60%, with the rest of the money being distributed to shareholders as traditional income. The 8-cents-per-share dividend, payable Feb. 21, is the telco's first dividend in several years.
