SPOTLIGHT: Tech issues won't guide N.H. votes


Can technology issues such as Net neutrality and rural broadband be important issues in this year's presidential race? The early indication in today's primary in New Hampshire is that many people voting either don't know what Net neutrality is or don't much care, according to a blog report at CNET.

There are certainly a variety of issues that the average vote should and does consider more important than issues that are top-of-mind in technology sectors. The most pressing issue for the telecom industry--whether or not telcos will get retroactive immunity for domestic eavesdropping--is a privacy issue rather than a technology issue.
