Some prominent investors who made their big names and their big money in telecom are now investing in various environmentally progressive (I'm trying not to say "green" again) technologies. These financiers include Ethernet guru Bob Metcalfe, Vinod Khosla and others. In some cases, there's a telecom or networking angle involved, but otherwise these telecom wise guys might just be interested in chasing the next big thing. GigaOM touches on the trend.
