Tech Valley Communications has named 20-year telecom veteran Maura Mahoney as its senior director of marketing and product management.

Mahoney is tasked with helping the emerging competitive provider raise its brand awareness by driving its marketing and product development initiatives.
Before coming to Tech Valley Communications, Mahoney most recently led marketing at Conterra Broadband Services, a service provider that specializes in creating transport networks for underserved communities. However, she is probably best known for her 11-year tenure as the VP of Marketing, Business Development and Systems Engineering at Sidera Networks and its various predecessors RCN Metro and NEON Communications.
Her appointment comes at a time when Tech Valley is expanding its network facilities organically and through targeted acquisitions. With its recent TelJet acquisition, Tech Valley instantly expanded its growing base of wholesale and enterprise customers in Vermont, New Hampshire and Montreal.
Mahoney will be able to assist other new members of the competitive provider's management team, including fellow RCN Metro and NEON colleague Pat Coughlin, who was appointed as senior vice president of sales and marketing in March to help Tech Valley pursue new wholesale wireless backhaul opportunities.
