Tom Regent to head up BT Global Services sales/marketing efforts

As BT (NYSE: BT) continues to expand its global services reach to satisfy multinational corporation (MNC) needs, it has brought on Tom Regent on board as the unit's new President of Global Sales & Marketing. Reporting to CEO Jeff Kelly, Regent will oversee BT Global Services' sales, bid management, indirect channels and marketing.

Regent, who will officially join BT on November 1, comes with plenty of international sales and customer experience. Since 2007, he ran AT&T's international business operations in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa.

Before taking on his most recent role, Regent was the VP of global marketing for AT&T's international operations following a tour of duty in various positions at the service provider's U.S. headquarters.

The appointment of Regent is just one of many measures BT is taking to enhance its international operations. Last week, BT announced that it was ramping up the first phase of its Asia Pacific growth program that will provide various in-region IP-based service sets.
