Verizon adds more self-help capabilities to FiOS roster

With the debut of how-to videos on demand for its In-Home Agent, Verizon FiOS customers now have another self-help customer service weapon that won't require waiting for the next available representative to help them.

From the comfort of the couch or laptop, or PC, Verizon's on-demand how-to videos are accessible from the help menu on the main TV menu. If a subscriber wants help with how to use their DVR, for example, all they have to do is click "Menu" then "Help" and finally "In-Home Agent."

Included in FiOS' In-Home Agent library is everything from FiOS phone service and e-mail setup, to configuring TV audio. And since the service is wired into Verizon's operating systems, users can also click on an interface to initiate an automatic fix for any technical problem that could arise with a piece of network hardware or service.
