It's less than halfway to the exalted 100 Gbps threshold, but Verizon Business has gone live on at least two major network routes with 40 Gbps capacity, essentially quadrupling its previous backbone capabilities. What will it do with all that capacity? Well, with its FiOS broadband roll-out in high gear and video traffic on the rise overall, there is probably not a lot it won't do with bigger bandwidth pipes.
