Verizon finds managed services growth

It's difficult to pick apart the broad, multi-aspect managed services market and call one company a leader, but Verizon Business arguably has been more aggressive in that sector than any other traditional U.S. telco. Verizon Business is often described as the old MCI, and it's true this is the part of Verizon Communications that includes the MCI assets acquired a few years ago. But the company has since invested significantly in more IP, security tools and other assets to create a more full-fledged managed services offering. The strategic services portion of Verizon Business, which includes managed services, posted revenue growth of more than 28% during the third quarter and accounted for more than 25% of the business unit's revenue.
