Verizon seeks to dismiss Windstream lawsuit

Verizon Communications has filed a motion to dismiss the civil suit filed by Windstream Corp. last month over a 2006 billing dispute that the independent telco had with Alltel, which is now owned by Verizon. Verizon said in its motion that Windstream did not follow proper procedure because it did not first present the complaint to the Arkansas Public Service Commission before filing the lawsuit.
