Videotron quadruples DOCSIS 3.0 speeds to 940 Mbps with Hybrid Fiber Giga service

Quebec's Videotron is giving users a new higher speed option by launching a 940 Mbps/50 Mbps service option for its customers. Following its initial debut in Laval and continuing across Quebec in the following months, the new service is competitively priced at $108.14 per month ($149.95 CAD).

Offering all of its subscribers, including businesses, unlimited data, Hybrid Fiber Giga nearly quadruples Videotron's previous top DOCSIS 3.0-based download speed of 200Mbps, which is currently available to more than three million households and businesses. Similar to its U.S.-based MSO counterparts Comcast and Cox, Videotron began testing 1 Gbps-capable broadband services last July. Release
