Vivek Ragavan takes helm of Actelis Networks

Telecom industry veteran Vivek Ragavan has found a new home as the new President and CEO Actelis Networks.

Ragavan, who previously ran other upstart telecom vendors Atrica (now Nokia Siemens Networks) and earlier Redback Networks (now Ericsson), will take over the reins from current CEO and President Tuvia Barlev. During his tenure at Redback Networks, the company won the number one spot in Forbes ASAP Ramp Champs list of 20 fastest growing companies in 2000.

Barlev, who will stay on board at Actelis as the company's executive chairman of the board, founded Actelis in 1998, along with current board director Kamran Elahian. Since its founding, Actelis found a sizeable niche both in the U.S. and increasingly the European Ethernet over copper market serving large customers such as Qwest and Windstream.
