Vonage seeks review of patent appeal

Vonage just reached a settlement in the patent infringement lawsuit Sprint Nextel had filed against the VoIP juggernaut, but doesn't appear ready settle its other patent dispute just yet. Vonage has requested a review of the U.S Court of Appeals ruling from Sept. 26 that partially upheld an earlier district court judgment that Vonage had infringed on three patents held by Verizon Communications.

The appeals court re-affirmed the ruling on two of the patents, but remanded the case of the third patent back to the district court. Perhaps, Vonage is hoping that small victory might expand into a larger one upon further review. Otherwise, a settlement with Verizon could be forthcoming.
