Now that Comcast has abandoned its $45.2 billion quest for Time Warner Cable, speculation will begin to mount on a number of new possible deal scenarios.

There are a number of possibilities here. Besides Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA), the other lingering issues are the ultimate fate of TWC and what will Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR), which initially launched a bid for the company, do next? According to a recent Reuters report citing unnamed sources, Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) is open to discussing a possible merger with Charter.
