Wheeler speaks at OTTcon; Orange Business Services joins VMware vCloud Initiative

> Hardee County, Fla.'s broadband project is kicking into high gear as Occam Networks and network integrator Rapid Systems partner to deploy Occam's BLC 6000 multiservice access platform (MSAP). The network will initially make fixed wireless broadband available to 2,800 homes and 800 businesses in the county while preparing for fiber-based broadband later on. News release.

> Optical transport equipment provider Ekinops signed an agreement with Marubeni Information Systems (MSYS) under which MSYS will sell, support and maintain Ekinops' 360 DWDM platform in Japan. News release.
