Windstream offers lifetime data/voice bundle

Tier 2 ILEC Windstream is doing everything it can to keep its customers from churning to the local cable company, and the debut of a lifetime price guarantee on high-speed Internet and unlimited wireline phone service is a testament to that goal. With more than 1 million broadband lines and counting, Windstream's "Lifetime Price Guarantee" offer provides residential customers a package that includes up to 12 Mbps of DSL service and unlimited nationwide calling with 13 features. What's more, the ILEC is giving customers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on DSL service all without a long-term commitment.

Windstream's pricing is competitive with typical cable dual and triple play offerings. Most cable offerings from Comcast and other MSOs allow consumers to get a reduced rate for a fixed period. Comcast, for instance, allows customers to purchase each service (voice, video and data) for $33 a month, but then the package price goes up after a year. Meanwhile, the starting price for Windstream's DSL/voice bundle is $49.99 with up to 3 Mbps of Internet service and nationwide calling. But what will also help Windstream prevent further churn are the services its providing beyond the typical telco demarcation point including its Security Suite, home networking, Online Backup for storage and Broadband Protection Plus.
