Windstream offers SMB audio and web conferencing

Joining the club for hosted SMB services, Windstream is now offering flat-rate web and audio conferencing for small and medium business customers.  Bundled pricing is a flat $35 per month, says the company.

Windstream is pitching the services as "ideal products" to reduce or eliminate travel costs. Audio conferencing features up to 5 simultaneous participants, toll-free access, dial out to add conference attendees, operator assistance, and web based conference controls.

The web conferencing package is fully integrated with the audio conferencing call controls, includes group instant messaging, application and desktop sharing, built-in support for live webcam video conferencing, an integrated PowerPoint viewer, and a mechanism for handout distribution.

With over a million broadband subscribers within its territory and a net income drop last quarter, Windstream could use a quick revenue shot in the arm with some hosted service offerings for its existing customer base.
