XO adds New York's 325 Hudson to its growing PoP list

XO Communications is enhancing its U.S. network influence by creating a new point of presence (PoP) at 325 Hudson's Meet Me Room in downtown New York.

325 Hudson is a carrier-neutral interconnection facility that houses a number of service providers that have deep fiber footprints along Hudson Street and the Holland Tunnel in New York City.

The service provider's move to establish a PoP at 325 Hudson is part of XO's broader strategy to expand its network reach across the United States while providing carriers, service providers and enterprises with a new PoP to access its services.

"The 325 Hudson location is consistent with our strategy of adding more convenient options to interconnect for our current and prospective customers," said Eric Points, director of product management at XO Communications, in a release.

Among the many new services that XO could extend to its new and existing customers is its bandwidth-on-demand option and offering 50-100 Mbps speed connection options to Amazon Web Services' (AWS) cloud computing platform.
