XO Communications is one of the largest advocates of fiber-based Ethernet services in the competitive telco space, but the service provider is also a purveyor of Ethernet over Copper (EoC) service. To date, the CLEC's EoC service is available in 447 Local Service Offices (LSOs). Sam Koetter, senior product manager, Ethernet services for XO, said what sets them apart from other emerging EoC competitors is their understanding that tweaking the copper pairs to get the speeds their clients desire is "a little more art than science sometimes."
