XO extends network reach in Seattle

XO Communications (OTC BB: XOHO.OB) sees the Seattle metro as one of the many existing markets it operates as a ripe area to expand its network presence.

In this latest network expansion, XO will extend the reach of its 19,000-mile nationwide network and establish additional points of presence across the Seattle market. With this expansion, XO increases its reach across the northern suburbs of Seattle in Everett, Kirkland and Bothell and adds to the company's already extensive Seattle network presence where its metro fiber network spans 200 route miles.

Mitzi Sachs, general manager of the Seattle market for XO Communications, said that the latest network expansion initiative in Seattle is fundamental customer demand. "We have seen increased demand for our services from multi-locations businesses in areas adjacent to our markets and have opted for a smart growth strategy through network expansion," she said.

Seattle is just one of many existing markets that XO has been expanding its network reach. Notable examples of this growth include XO's expanded presence across Southern California's Inland Empire region and the addition of a fourth international gateway the U.S.-Mexico border in McAllen, Texas to address Latin American wholesale network growth.
