Zayo realigns management team at Zayo Bandwidth, zColo units

Following the recent departure of John Scarano, Zayo Group's co-founder and President and CEO of Zayo bandwidth unit, the service provider is making some changes within its Zayo Bandwidth and zColo units.

David Howson, Zayo BandwidthReplacing Scarano as President of Zayo Bandwidth is David Howson, who was appointed as zColo's president in June. A 17-year telecom industry veteran, Howson like Scarano is a former Level 3 (Nasdaq: LVLT) executive, having most recently served as the wholesale and business service provider's Senior Vice President of Customer Service Management, Customer and Network Operations.

Taking over the reins of zColo will be Chris Morley, Zayo Bandwidth's CFO and head of product management. In addition to a recent stint at competitive service provider One Communications, Morley spent time at Altman Vilandrie & Co. and AT&T (NYSE: T) .

Morley's appointment as the new head of zColo shouldn't be all that surprising. Dan Caruso, Zayo's President and CEO, said that one Morley's biggest contributions he made since joining the company a year and a half ago was helping to "establish the zColo business unit after the FiberNet acquisition."
