Zayo snaps up AGL Resources' dark fiber business

Zayo Group continues on its growth process through acquisition by reaching a deal to acquire AGL Networks' dark fiber business.

The acquisition will add to Zayo's growing fiber asset portfolio with dark fiber infrastructure that currently serves customers in Atlanta, Phoenix, and Charlotte, NC markets. These markets include more than 795 route miles and 182,000 fiber miles.

Although financial details were not disclosed, Zayo expects to close the deal by Q2 2010.
