Cloud career moves - the Commencement edition

Hello and a very Happy Friday to you all. Cue “Pomp and Circumstance,” Silverliners, I'm graduating tomorrow. While nothing excites yours truly more than sitting indoors in a 20th-century basketball gym all day — sponsored by Southern Rhode Island rain — I’m honored to turn my tassels, toss my cap and head back to the Windy City.

Enough about me. Grab your cap and cords folks, and let’s skip back in time to our featured techies’ special day in this week’s Cloud Career Moves – the Commencement Edition.

Erin Mulligan Nelson has been named CEO of OfficeSpace Software, a hybrid

workplace management platform. Prior to this role, Erin was CEO of Social Solutions, a leading cloud software platform for nonprofit and public sector social service organizations. Rumor has it you can hear her singing the University of Texas at Austin’s fight song a mile away. Some say two.

DMI, a global digital transformation solutions company, named Rocky Thurston as CEO. He previously served as chief operating officer for the company and worked alongside the former CEO to oversee the company’s strategic development. At his graduation, the legendary Air Force Thunderbirds found Rocky’s commencement speech so moving they paused their air show to listen in.

Lacework has named Lea Kissner as chief information security officer. Lea brings over 20 years of experience leading security and privacy efforts and will lead development and implementation of Lacework’s security strategy and programs. We’re guessing this prior Golden Bear got plenty of kudos on their graduation day, but also got to celebrate with Oski the mascot himself?

Orange Business also named Hriday Ravindranath as its new chief technology and information officer. In his role, Hriday will drive internal transformation toward cloud computing and software utilization. These two received personal invites to their university president’s commencement after-parties — toss that cap and pop the champagne!
