Cloud Career Moves - the Tour de France edition

Bonjour, Silverliners. It’s time to get in the saddle because we are biking over 3,500 km in the French countryside at a cool 40 km per hour. Don’t forget to fill up those water bottles with extra ice, please. We’re headed straight into the mountains for Stage 13 of the Tour de France for a light 137.8 km through Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne to Grand Colombier. Polkadot jersey, anyone?

We hope our featured techies are ready to take off their training wheels in this edition of Cloud Career Moves — the Tour de France edition. Allons-y!

Linda Zecher will serve as CEO of IronNet, a network security company. She previously served as corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Sector organization and will help drive IronNet’s Collective Defense Platform in her new position. Linda took a wrong turn a few days into the grueling race — she’s been spotted at several nearby French resorts since the “incident.”

Volumez, a cloud infrastructure company, announced John Blumenthal as its new chief product and business officer. John will lead the company’s product, customer and marketing strategy.  Previous to this role, John co-founded CloudPhysics, a software as a service- (SaaS) based operational analytics platform. John has a habit of distracting other bikers on the course with his music of choice — “The Final Countdown” has been on loop via a handlebar Boombox for two weeks now. (Maybe he should switch to a vintage Bone Fone to get better sound quality?)

SaaS-based WebOps platform Pantheon has named Kshitij Dayal as senior vice president of engineering. Kshitij will lead the Pantheon engineering team to enhance its user experience and innovate the company’s next steps for WebOps. Prior to his role with Pantheon, Kshitij guided product strategy and development for Workday as general manager and senior vice president for its planning product portfolio. He’s recently swapped his bike and team jersey for a motorbike ride with the camera crew. That will make the Col du Tourmalet climb a cinch.

Lisa Davis, board of directors, Movius

Lisa Davis will join Movius’, a cloud-based communications software, board of directors. Lisa currently serves as executive vice president and CIO at Blue Shield of California and has held C-level and executive leadership roles at Intel and Georgetown University. As part of Movius’ board, Lisa will aid the company’s expansion into more industries and geographies. Lisa was trying for the famous yellow jersey, but we have a feeling she will sneak onto Kshitj’s motorbike on that last leg of the race.

Greg Randolph, CCO, e2open

Greg Randolph, CCO, e2open*

E2open announced Greg Randolph as chief commercial officer for the connected supply chain SaaS platform. Greg has over 25 years of experience as a go-to-market software executive and will oversee e2open’s global commercial organization by refining the company’s go-to-market strategy and execution. Greg is iconic in the Tour de France community but is never seen riding… is he Didi the Devil’s secret legacy?
