T-Mobile and Lumen court joint enterprise, government customers

T-Mobile and Lumen Technologies today said they’re targeting enterprise and government organizations with their joint 5G and edge computing services.

Lumen and T-Mobile struck a partnership in April to leverage T-Mobile’s 5G network with Lumen’s business-grade fiber and edge computing capabilities.

The partnership gives T-Mobile access to Lumen’s on-net-fiber enterprise customers. And garnering enterprise customers is a new thrust for T-Mobile, which has mainly focused on consumer wireless to date.

For Lumen, the partnership with T-Mobile gives it the ability to provide wireless 5G options to its enterprise customers. It also gives Lumen’s customers access to T-Mobile’s Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution for businesses.

Today, the companies say that T-Mobile will become a preferred wireless connectivity partner for Lumen.

“By pairing America’s largest and fastest 5G network with Lumen’s enterprise solutions, we can break down industry barriers and deliver unparalleled network reach to enterprise and government organizations looking to optimize their applications across networks,” said Mike Katz, EVP of T-Mobile for Business, in a statement.

Both companies will also continue to drive innovation together through T-Mobile’s labs and Tech Experience Center and the Lumen Edge Experience Center.
