Jason Hogg is a GM responsible for the Azure for Operators (AfO) AIOps program which includes Azure Operator Insights and Azure Operator Service Manager. Prior to AfO Jason lead the creation of the Azure Data Lake Storage platform and Azure Media Services’ AI based Video Analytics service. Jason has 30+ years of experience in software development – having spent the last 21 years at Microsoft where he has also worked in Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Research, and Developer Division. Jason holds a MSc (Comp Sci) from University of Washington.

Steve, a.k.a. Silverlinings' Sky Captain, is a British-born communications analyst, investor, and digital media entrepreneur.

In 2018 he was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to the telecommunications industry and business.

Steve began his career as a technology journalist with McGraw-Hill in the 1980’s. In 2000 he launched Light Reading, an online media network covering telecommunications news, telecommunications research and security news. Light Reading was acquired by UBM in 2005 for $33 million. Steve then bought Light Reading back from UBM in January 2014, reselling it to Informa PLC two years later, having doubled both its revenues and audience.

In the last 25 years, Steve has won more than 100 awards for journalism, technology analysis, and digital media publishing, including: 2010 - Min's Digital Media Marketer of the Year; 2009 - No. 2 position on Folio magazine's Folio 40 ranking of magazine industry influencers and innovators; and 2008 – Inductee, Min's Digital Media Hall of Fame

Steve is the author of three books: The Data Communications Gigabit Ethernet Handbook (McGraw-Hill, 1998), The McGraw-Hill High-Speed LANs Handbook (McGraw-Hill, 1995) and The True Story of King Arthur (48hourbooks, 2009).

He serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Laser Light Communications, which is building the world's first all-optical carrier network in space.

Steve splits his time between the U.S. (Brooklyn) and the U.K. (London, and Sussex). He has three sons: Harrison, Spenser and Parker.
