Arris has high hopes for Q4 09

Arris continues to reap the rewards of its cable customer's DOCSIS 3.0 drive as the company has increased its Q4 earnings and revenue outlook. Wall Street liked the company's revenue forecasts of $295 to $300 million enough that it sent its shares up 7 percent.

Previously, Arris forecasted a net income of 13 cents to 17 cents a share on revenue of $265 million to $285 million.

Likely contributors to Arris' Q4 forecast are the aggressive DOCSIS 3.0 rollouts by large MSOs customers such as Comcast. As the company comes into 2010, Arris says it's off to a moderate start, a factor it attributes to its fourth quarter performance.
