Ashish Chowdhary to head Nokia Siemens' services unit

With the crown just fitted for Rajeev Suri's ascension to the CEO throne, Nokia Siemens Networks announced today that Ashish Chowdhary will now become the head of the company's profitable services business. NSN is wasting no time with the transition. Chowdhary will take over the services unit at the beginning of October when Suri becomes CEO. Last week, NSN announced that Suri would take over the CEO spot as Simon Beresford-Wylie said he would step down in November after a short transition period.

"As head of one of the fastest growing segments within Services and a proven leader, Ashish is the natural successor to Rajeev," said outgoing CEO Simon Beresford-Wylie in a release.

Professional services continue to be a bright star for Nokia Siemens Networks. Similar to its European telecom vendor counterparts Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent, NSN reported that services contributed 45 percent to the company's second-quarter earnings.
