Charter Communications continues its stint of executive leadership changes, announcing today Eilisa Reid has been promoted to SVP of Application Platform Services.
Reid, who most recently served as group VP of Charter’s Service Delivery Applications unit, will spearhead the company’s strategy in customer facing service delivery applications, public and private cloud operations as well as data center networks operations. She will report to Magesh Srinivasan, Charter’s EVP of Network Operations.
Since joining Charter in 2016, Reid has overseen the company’s various NetOps components, including customer premises equipment and DNS infrastructure. Prior to Charter, she spent over 13 years at Comcast Cable, advancing the company’s efforts in service activation, network provisioning and workforce automation, just to name a few.
“Eilisa is an expert in her field and she brings extensive industry experience to this role,” Srinivasan said in a statement. “Continuing the legacy of strong leadership within Network Operations, Eilisa is already well-equipped for her new areas of responsibility which will help shape the future of our customers’ experience.”
Reid isn’t the only Comcast vet in Charter’s executive ranks. The operator last month nabbed Shane Portfolio – formerly Comcast’s SVP of Field Operations – as its new SVP of Network Engineering and Technology. Portfolio is charged with enhancing Charter’s core access network infrastructure.
In addition to hiring Portfolio, Charter in November internally promoted Gary Koerper and Mike Baldino to new SVP roles focused on emerging technology and data platforms, respectively.
Reid’s promotion also comes a few months after Charter tapped COO Chris Winfrey to serve as Charter’s new CEO, after then-CEO Tom Rutledge announced his retirement. Winfrey officially took the leadership reins on December 1.
While Charter builds up its NetOps team, it’s also expanding its enterprise offerings. The company this month unveiled a set of new fiber transport products that can provide speeds ranging from 10 Gbps to up to 100 Gbps. It marks the first time Charter has made high-speed data services available across its entire enterprise fiber network.
Speaking on the company’s Q3 earnings call, Winfrey said he will shed some light on Charter’s network ambitions, including its planned upgrade to DOCSIS 4.0, at a company investor event in December – scheduled for this Tuesday.
