Emerson Network Power rolls out new 10 GbE ATCA platform core

Emerson Network Power has announced its "most economical" 10Gb Ethernet system for central office and server applications, the Centellis 4410 ATCA platform core.

The 14-slot, 13U Centellis 4410 is pre-validated with a variety of ATCA processor blades and software and was designed to provide a common management platform for multiple 1 and 10 GbE applications. Further, the platform core has been "rigorously tested" to CP-TA guidelines as an added measure to ensure interoperability across the ATCA ecosystem.

The Centellis 4410 platform core might be used for telecom central office applications including wireless infrastructure, packetized voice and wireline data, IP gateways, location registers and mobile switching centers. Features include a redundant shelf manager and alarm modules, redundant power entry modules and two fan tray modules.
