Qwest's Euteneuer named as Sprint's new CFO

Sprint (NYSE: S) made it official today that Qwest's (NYSE: Q) Joseph Euteneuer will become its new CFO, taking over the reins from Bob Brust, who is retiring from the company.

Euteneuer will officially begin his duties as Sprint's CFO once Qwest completes its merger with CenturyLink-a process that could take a number of to complete as it seeks approval from the FCC and other states.

Credited as one of Qwest's turnaround men, Euteneuer joined Qwest in September 2008 following his stint as CFO of XM Satellite Radio.

Brust, who joined Sprint in May 2008, will continue to serve as Sprint's CFO until Euteneuer officially takes up the post.
