New market research from Pike and Fischer suggests that satellite broadband services will serve 1.3 million homes by 2012, which represents only 11% of the rural homes in the U.S. that likely could benefit from satellite broadband technology. That makes it seem like a market with a lot of potential room for growth, though quality of service and other issues have haunted satellite broadband, according to BroadbandReports.com.
