Vitals: This broadband service provider, based in San Marcos, Tex., will turn eight years old next month. It was an early player in triple play services based on DSL and fiber, and while it has heavily focused on Austin, San Antonio and San Marcos, it has 48 franchise licenses throughout Texas.
Why you should care: Grande just reported 5% customer growth during the third quarter and now serves almost 145,000 customers. The company also has been busily upgrading its long-haul fiber network, which extends into other states throughout the South Central region of the United States.
