RVA Market Research and Consulting has issued a report showing that about 3 million homes in North America are now connected by fiber-based broadband, while connections are being marketed to another 10 million households. Verizon Communications remains the lead dog in the fiber-to-the-home market, and together, former Bell companies accounted for about 72 percent of homes connected. Telephony notes that RVA's data has been challenged in the past, though RVA has not buckled.
