Sycamore misses revenue expectations

Vendor Sycamore Networks posted first fiscal quarter net income of about $7 million, better than the $17 million net loss for the same period a year ago. The company also reported revenue of $38 million, but its revenue missed analyst expectations for the second consecutive quarter. The company also saw its chief financial officer depart two months ago for a different job opportunity, but more recently has made product strides, announcing a new multiservice switch in hopes of building up market opportunities.
