tw telecom veteran Tony Thakur finds new home at CENX

tw telecom (NasdaqGS: TWTC) veteran Tony Thakur has decided to hand in his keys and take on a new position at Ethernet exchange provider CENX as the company's new Vice President, Engineering and Operations.

Interestingly, Thakur's movement to CENX will allow him to apply his carrier experience to help Ethernet providers like tw telecom solve the ever-vexing Ethernet interconnection issue.

"The challenge of interconnecting Carrier Ethernet networks is the number one issue facing the industry today" said Thakur in a release. "It's clear from the market's rapid acceptance of CENX's Exchange offering, that the company has all of the necessary assets to solve this issue and bring the world's leading Carrier Ethernet providers together."

Best known for his 15-plus year work at competitive Ethernet provider tw telecom, where he most recently served as the service provider's Vice President, Network Technologies and Systems, Thakur brings over 25 years of experience in carrier experience to CENX. In addition to tw telecom, Thakur's 25-year career also includes engineering and management stints former MCI (now Verizon Business) and Sprint UTF where he held engineering and management positions.
